Entry Level: $23.00 to $26.00 per hour
Mechanic Apprentice: $26.00 to $30.00 per hour
Successful candidates may have the opportunity to progress from a Labourer position into a Mechanic Apprentice role based on performance, training, and operational requirements.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Assume customer service duties for our rental division;
Greet customers, provide assistance to clients’ needs in rental department, i.e. answer questions, recommend available suitable equipment, products and services, etc.;
Perform maintenance on rental equipment (small engine mechanic);
Communicate all safety aspects of rental equipment to the customer or employee and ensure safe transportation prior to the client’s departure;
Receive and store incoming parts and supplies;
Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in a warehouse, tool room, supply room or other area;
Process incoming requisitions and issue or distribute parts and supplies for internal usage;
Maintain records of orders and the amount, type and location of parts and supplies on hand using manual or computerized inventory system;
Prepare requisition orders to replenish parts, supplies and rental-related materials;
Maintains inventory of spare and replacement parts for motor vehicles, machinery, and equipment as per company standard;
Advise internal users on the appropriateness of requested parts, supplies, or materials.
Issue purchase orders in accordance with established procedures;
Ensure proper housekeeping practices within the parts and rental areas;
Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by the department Manager.
Assist the Parts Department during scheduled Saturday rotations, providing support with counter service and parts distribution.
Qualifications / Skills
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Capable of standing, crouching, kneeling, climbing, grasping, squatting, and twisting for extended periods.
Physically able to handle heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks.
Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficiency in computer software such as Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
Bilingual in both official languages (English & French) is an asset.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Post-secondary diploma in a relevant field is considered an asset.
Prior experience in a related field is an advantage.
Knowledge of rental department systems is essential, with on-site training provided.
